Farm attack victim, Kallie van Heerden will undergo surgery at Anncron hospital in Klerksdorp tonight to repair the damage done to his lungs following a farm attack earlier today.

Van Heerden was shot five times by three unknown men who confronted him on his farm in Rooikuil just outside Hartbeesfontein. According to his wife Thelma, he is in a critical condition and suffered a lot of internal bleeding. Van Heerden was shot in the hand, elbow, shoulder, and chest just after 16:00 this afternoon.

Reports indicate that the three men confronted van Heerden and demanded cash, they forced him into the house where they ransacked several rooms. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Despite being heavily wounded, van Heerden managed to alert the neighbourhood watch who immediately blocked off roads in the district. According to van Heerden the three men wore black and carried a backpack.

With the help of Afriforum and members of several security and neigbourhood watch forums, roads from Rooikuil to Anncron were blocked off to ensure that the ambulance reaches the hospital as soon as possible.
