The EXCO of CPF Klerksdorp had its first 2019 monthly meeting on 21 February. The meeting was well represented by the EXCO members and we are all looking forward to a productive year.
According to the report presented by Brigadier Seymour, the current crime statistics look better than the same time last year. He, however, cautions the public, to remain vigilant as there are still burning issues in criminal activity.
Robberies at businesses and theft out of vehicles are mostly concentrated in the CBD area. The public is always advised not to leave any visible articles in their vehicles and to be aware of their surroundings.
Residents of Wilkoppies and Meiringspark must take extra precautionary measures as there is a steady increase in burglaries during the day when people are at work. Alarm systems must always be activated. Make sure that valuables aren’t lying around or near windows as this paves the way for opportunistic crime.
The whole meeting agreed that a more pro-active stance should be taken and invites the community to become more involved in fighting crime. All suspicious activity should be reported without hesitation and if anyone has any information about a crime, please contact the SAPS as soon as possible.
There will be an increased reach out to more security companies and neighbourhood watches to facilitate and coordinate disruptive operations in our fight against crime.
CPF Klerksdorp invites the public to their next general meeting that will take place on the 14th of March at 18:00 in the Meiringspark Primary School Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
